Popular Style

Jazz has become one of the most popular dance styles in recent years, mainly due to its popularity on television shows, movies, music videos and commercials. It is an energetic and fun style, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps, kicks and quick turns. It is great for all ages and concentrates on flexibility, coordination and technique.

Typical Class Structure

Our classes typically begin with a warm up, which is focused on stretching and isolating different body parts. We also include flexibility and corner work to help the students technique. Students will be taught separate moves (such as turns, jumps and pirouettes). These moves combine into a short, step-by-step routine that is accompanied by popular music. The class ends with a short cool-down and some stretching.

What to wear?

Jazz students are required to wear black jazz shoes and tight fitted clothing (such as a leotard, leggings and tights).
